The Story
Originally meant to be a live production put up in the McClintock Theater at USC in April of 2020, all paperwork was contrived and built for the space. When Covid hit and we were unable to put up a live version of this show, the idea was shifted in order to create a piece that could be performed through Zoom with all actors isolated in their own corner of the world.
The director of the show had the actors each contrive a 10 minute monologue that detailed their character and who their character came to be through their arc in the original show.
I met with each of these actors--who had become the directors of their own monologues--one-on-one and we discussed what they would like sound to do for their monologue. From there, I designed soundscapes for each of their performance and built them in QLab. We then met on Zoom where they performed their monologue and I hit the go on QLab so we could time the file. We recorded the audio into ProTools and I exported a single wav file that was then sent to the actors for them to be able to play off of their devices while they performed their piece.

Audio Samples
Audio excerpts from a Zoom Production of Shakespeare's "A Winter's Tale" edited into 10 minute monologues by each character underscored with these tracks.
Soundscape was edited in protools, exported to QLab where it was built and timed and then exported as an m4a file to be played by the actor in their space as they performed
